U16 Titans reach Quarter Final of M/cr County Cup

The U16 squad began their Manchester County Cup Campaign meeting a formidable Salford side Del La Salle breezing through the first round with a home result 4-1. The second round draw saw them meet the mighty Manchester Corinthians at Ten Acres Lane of a cold and windy January morning. The Titans arrived with a positive mental attitude and the desire to win became apparent as the first half finished at 0-4, the final score reflecting the disciplined squad managed by Mike Turner with a convincing 1-8 score line.

The quarter final is to be played on Sunday 6th March and is being held at Manchester Health Academy 1.30pm kick off. All spectators welcome.

We caught up with Mike Turner ahead of the training preparation who shared the following “ I’m delighted for the players, most of the group have been involved with the club since U6. At times its a difficult journey but as a grassroots manager you learn by experience and draw on knowledge from people around you. For example, over the recent weeks the squad have enjoyed the additional opportunity to train with the youth team manager Paul Fay. It has given the players the insight and exposure to the next stage in how to develop their game as individuals and as a group”.

Annual Subscription - Final Payments now overdue

Subscriptions - A discussion took place at the Executive on Monday evening and the conclusion was that all Subscription’s are now way overdue and payable immediately with the Executive reviewing sums O/S with a view of to looking at suspending players that have sums O/S for the rest of the season. Why are full Subscriptions payable ?? In summary;

  • Prior to lockdown most teams had played the best part of 50% of fixtures.

  • The resumption and return to play protocols are suggesting that the season will run through until late May/early June to complete fixtures

  • All teams had the Kit they requested and/or were due

  • All of our facility partners have now Invoiced us for full use of the facility with the extended season. Example of this is last week I was asked to pay nearly £8,000 by Trafford Leisure and if we didn’t pay before 29th March our account would be frozen and we would be denied use of Trafford facilities ! We paid but an example of how our Costs have now been firmed up to be those of a full season

Annual Subscription - further instalments

A massive thank you to all who have paid “Instalment 1” so far. We have now ordered new playing and training kits for the teams that are due this year (its a 2 year replacement cycle), we’ve also managed to secure 3G winter training facilities for all teams to train on during the dark winter months.

We’re therefore pretty much committed now to our normal levels of spend and hopefully we can run through the season despite Covid-19 troubles and get our kids playing football.

Historically we have collected subs in 1 payment during July, this year while we had the uncertainty we delayed, and have been able to develop an online payment solution which has gone very smoothly for the 1st instalment such that we feel confident to continue the staged payments.

We have concluded now to collect the balance due over another 2 instalments to give more flexibility for those who want to manage payments. Equally if you just want it done, then you can pay for all the instalments you need in one transaction.

Annual Subscription - Installment 1

As you are all aware Covid-19 has caused significant disruption to how our junior football would normally operate, but has also allowed us to look at how we do things and try to improve.

We’re delighted that this year, we are in a position to collect annual subscriptions completely contactless, and reduce the admin burden that previously was borne by the hardworking team managers. Its also facilitated by PayPal giving you the flexibility for a number of payment options to suit your circumstances.

We have also felt it appropriate, given that the future is uncertain and that we’re currently unable to confirm bookings for Winter 3G training, that we should collect subs in installments to match our expenditure and avoid the situation should it occur of having to issue refunds.

To allow us to do this, its imperative that you help us minimise the admin burden and pay promptly, we therefore ask that you make the 1st payment of £50 (of a total £200 subs) via the link below by the deadline of 30th September.

We are in a position to cross check the payments made vs player registrations and our expectation is to match a payment to each registration. After the deadline we will make efforts to chase up any outstanding payments, but ultimately non payment may result in a players registration being cancelled.
